Physical Vapor Deposition of Copper Oxide Nanowires

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2010
AbstractCopper oxide nanowires have been successfully prepared by vapor phase transport technique. The deposition conditions strongly influence the morphology of the nanostructures and in turn their electrical and functional properties. Micro-structural investigation and analysis of the electrical properties were performed together with electrical and ...

Boundary-induced nucleation control: A theoretical perspective

open access: yes, 2018
The pre-patterning of a substrate to create energetically more attractive or repulsive regions allows one to generate a variety of structures in physical vapor deposition experiments.

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Smallest Metallic Nanorods Using Physical Vapor Deposition

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2013
We first present a theory of the smallest diameter and then use the theory to guide the experimental realization of Cu nanorods of ~20 nm in diameter and Au nanorods of ~10 nm in diameter, the smallest well-separated metallic nanorods ever reported using PVD.

Reconfigurable Logic‐in‐Memory Operations Enabled by Triple‐Gated Feedback Field‐Effect Transistors for Area‐Efficient Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable logic‐in‐memory cell composed of triple‐gated feedback field‐effect transistors implements multiple combinational logic functions within a single configuration. By utilizing program gates as dynamic input terminals, the proposed cell performs full adder, full subtractor, 2‐to‐1 multiplexer, and 4‐to‐2 encoder operations without ...

Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 43, 29 May 2026.
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 43, 29 May 2026.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...
