Jupyter for Accelerator Physics
Jupyter is used extensively at RadiaSoft. We run a public and private JuptyerHub available at jupyter.radiasoft.org. Our Jupyter Docker image contains many popular particle accelerator and FEL beam physics codes, machine learning packages, and extensive visualization support. This talk covers how we use Jupyter and our experience with extending Jupyter

Metabolic Consequences of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) may have metabolic disruption, which can contribute to adverse long‐term outcomes, for multiple reasons. Patients with RA appear to have a higher risk of sarcopenia, type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, and hypertension. Systemic inflammation in RA can cause a “lipid paradox,” with reduced low‐

Can classical physics agree with quantum physics on quantum phenomena? [PDF]
Classical physics fails where quantum physics prevails. This common understanding applies to quantum phenomena that are acknowledged to be beyond the reach of classical physics. Here, we make an attempt at weakening this solid belief that classical physics is unfit to explain the quantum world.

Computer programs in accelerator physics [PDF]
Two areas of accelerator physics are discussed in which computer programs have been used with much success: (i) single‐particle beam dynamics in circular machines, i.e. the design and matching of machine lattices, and tracking of particles through these lattices; much emphasis is put on the standardization of the machine description and the modular ...

Ageism in Rheumatology: the Healthcare Professional's Perspective
Objective Ageism (age‐based stereotypes, prejudice, or discrimination) is prevalent and linked to prolonged disability and reduced lifespan in older adults. Little is known about ageism within rheumatology. This study explores the healthcare professional's (HCP) perception of the care of older adults and how ageist attitudes or perspectives may impact ...

RhoA and Rac1 as Mechanotransduction Mediators in Colorectal Cancer
Analysing RhoA and Rac1 protein levels in Colorectal cancer (CRC) samples under mechanical strain highlights their potential as diagnostic markers. Monitoring their activity could offer valuable insights into how cancer spreads, paving the way for new approaches to better understand and diagnose colorectal cancer.
