Physical theories of biological co-ordination

Quarterly Reviews of Biophysics, 1971
Biological organization is manifestly different from the order of the nonliving world, and the study of biology is largely a search for the nature of this difference. The perspective and style with which we see this difference has changed in many respects as our knowledge of living systems has grown. Today, following the molecular biological revolution,

Physics for biological breakthroughs

Physics World, 2021
It might not sound like an obvious place for a physicist to work, but the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is highly multidisciplinary, employing people from across all scientific fields. Laura Hiscott speaks to Wolfgang Huber, a physicist at EMBL who uses his mathematical skills to contribute to the life sciences.

Medical and Biological Physics.

Archives of Internal Medicine, 1969
One year of college physics is usually sufficient to satisfy the physics prerequisites of the admission offices of most medical schools in the United States. As a result, the beginning resident in radiology, surgery, anesthesiology, or other disciplines concerned with basic physical principles is often faced with the consideration of fairly ...

Physical and Biological Setting

2001
Abstract Trees are the corner stone life form in the vegetation of Sonora. They are the species that affect and influence the survival of other species in the eco system. whether plants, animals, or people. Trees grow virtually everywhere in the state except in the extremely arid desert bordering the Rio Colorado.

Physics of biological membranes

2006
The biological membrane is a complex system consisting of an aqueous biomolecular planar aggregate of predominantly lipid and protein molecules. At physiological temperatures, the membrane may be considered a thin (∼50A) slab of anisotropic fluid characterized by a high lateral mobility of the various molecular components.
