Upgrade of detectors of neutron instruments at Neutron Physics Laboratory in Řež

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2017
Abstract Three neutron instruments at the Neutron Physics Laboratory (NPL) in Řež near Prague — small-angle scattering (SANS) MAUD, strain scanner SPN-100 and strain diffractometer TKSN-400 — have been modernized recently with new 2D position-sensitive detectors (PSDs) from JINR, Dubna.

Gaseous detectors for particle physics: A still blooming source of new instruments

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, 1983
Abstract The progress in gaseous detectors permits the matching of some of the needs created by progress in high-energy physics. The multistep structures, which include amplification between parallel grids, lead to improvements on Time Projection Chambers and Cherenkov ring imaging for high multiplicities.

New Development of Multi-Detector Pulsed Neutron Instrument for Quantitative Gas Saturation Monitoring in Air- or Gas- filled Boreholes: Physics, Modelling and Application

SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2017
Abstract One important application of a multi-detector pulsed neutron instrument is to detect gas response for determining quantitative gas saturation in the formation. Obtaining this saturation value is achieved by differentiating the gas response from the liquid response.

The Measurement of Extremely Low Light Levels in Analytical Chemi- and Bio-Luminescence: A Mathematical and Practical Evaluation of Some Physical Factors Influencing Detector Output and Instrument Design

Analytical Letters, 1979
Abstract In order to study the design features which affect the sensitivity of chemi- and bio-luminescence measuring devices, mathematical models have been devised. These models have been tested experimentally, and good agreement with their predictions obtained.
