Consumer Resistance in the Pet Marketplace [PDF]

open access: yes
This study draws on Cherrier’s (2008) concept of consumer-resistant identities together with the work of Beverland, Farelly and Lim (2008) on the dark side of pet ownership to shed light on consumer resistance in the context of the pet marketplace.

Sydämen PET-tutkimukset [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Sydämen positroniemissiotomografia (PET) -kuvien erinomainen laatu ja kvantitatatiiviset analyysit tuottavat tarkkaa ja luotettavaa tietoa sydänsairauksiin, kuten sepelvaltimotauteihin, sydänsarkoidoosiin ja sydämen infektioihin liittyvistä häiriöistä ...

Bioengineered Interfaces for Peripheral Nerve Sensory Restoration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Half of amputees abandon their prosthetics for lack of feeling. This review charts the full path from peripheral nerve injury to restored sensation, through surgical, regenerative, noninvasive, and implanted approaches, and shows how injury type and interface material properties determine which strategy can deliver naturalistic feedback, and why ...

A Conception of Moral Sensitivity and Everyday Consumption Practices: Insights from the Moralising Discourses of Pet Owners [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The marketing discipline is somewhat under-theorized regarding the moral meanings that both shape and are shaped by the everyday consumption practices of consumers.

Self‐Assembling Copolymers Encapsulating Single Endothelial Cells Induce Endogenous ECM Deposition and Vascular Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the first demonstration of stable sub‐50‐micron single‐cell GPM vesicles fabricated through the intrinsic self‐assembly of an amphiphilic copolymer. Hierarchical assembly of cell containing GPM vesicles into microspheres enable tunable, sustained cell delivery with immune protection.

Relationships of physiologically equivalent temperature and hospital admissions due to I30-I51 other forms of heart disease in Germany in 2009-2011 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We aimed to understand relationships of the weather as biometeorological and hospital admissions due to other forms of heart disease by subtypes, which have been paid less attention, in a national setting in recent years. This is an ecological study. Ten

Inverse Design of Nanoparticulate Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inverse design shifts nanomaterial development from empirical trial‐and‐error to predictive model‐driven strategies. It can rely on knowledge‐based, data‐based, or hybrid process and property functions. This perspective article provides a practical framework for applying inverse design based on instructive examples. It discusses which modeling approach

Surface Functionalization Modulates Collective Cell Behavior Near Topological Defects Induced by Topographical Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Strongly adhered cells align with concentric circular ridges and exhibit predominantly tangential motion, whereas weakly adhered cells fail to follow topographical guidance and display enhanced radial inward motion. ABSTRACT Living cells establish long‐range orientational order through collective alignment, giving rise to topological defects whose ...
