We introduce an additively manufactured bioreactor with a perfusion flow system and integrated temperature and pH sensors for skeletal muscle tissue biofabrication. The bioreactor's performance was evaluated by assessing the viability, spreading of the myoblast cells in a printed scaffold, and contraction of the isolated murine musculi interossei ...

An approach for physiological motion compensation in robotic-assisted cardiac surgery
The lack of physiological motion compensation is a major problem in robotic-assisted cardiac surgery. Since the heart is beating while the surgeon carried out the procedure, dexterity of the surgeon’s and precision are compromised.

Enhancing Small Molecule Sensing With Aptameric Functionalized Nano Devices
Unveiling an ultra‐sensitive, non‐invasive neurotransmitter sensor. For the first time, a nanoscale sensor for detecting an important neurotransmitter was demonstrated using micro‐electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. Our approach utilized field‐effect transistor (FET)‐based readout to enable pico‐molar detection of biomarkers in sweat.

Respiratory elastic load compensation in anesthetized patients with kyphoscoliosis
To evaluate the effects of abnormal respiratory mechanics and neuromuscular drive on the various components of elastic load compensation, we studied 16 anesthetized patients with kyphoscoliosis whose mean passive and active respiratory elastance (Ers ...

Multimodal perovskite nanocrystals enable optical thermometry across multiple excitation and emission regimes, spanning the UV–Vis–NIR spectral range. By combining upconversion, downshifting, and persistent luminescence, the platform bridges conventional Boltzmann and non‐Boltzmann thermometric approaches.

Complex food sources aid physiological compensation of bleached corals
Abstract Climate change induced coral bleaching threatens the survival of coral reefs. The disruption of the symbiosis between corals and their photosymbionts during bleaching inhibits photosynthesis, the main source of energy of the coral holobiont.
