NMI Regulates Adipose Adaptive Thermogenesis Through TLR4/IRF3 Signaling to Promote Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adipose tissue‐derived NMI is secreted under metabolic stress and suppresses adaptive thermogenesis through TLR4/IRF3 signaling, repressing the PPARα/PGC‐1α/UCP1 thermogenic transcriptional program. Genetic ablation or anti ‐ NMI monoclonal antibody treatment enhances energy expenditure, protects against DIO, and ameliorates adipose tissue inflammation,

A novel control architecture for physiological tremor compensation in teleoperated systems

International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery, 2013
AbstractBackgroundTelesurgery delivers surgical care to a ‘remote’ patient by means of robotic manipulators. When accurate positioning of the surgeon's tool is required, as in microsurgery, physiological tremor causes unwanted imprecision during a surgical operation.

Compensation of physiological motion using linear predictive force control

open access: yes2008 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2008
This paper proposes a new approach to compensate the physiological motion, induced by respiration and heart beating, for robotized minimally invasive cardiac surgery. The control algorithm, based on a linear predictive control, uses the effort information applied on the heart by the instrument.
