Influence of phase change within a 90-year-old Sequoia sempervirens on its in vitro organogenic capacity and protein patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Shoot-tips collected from stump shoots at the base of a 90-year-old #Sequoia sempervirens# and from the crown of the same donor tree were compared in respect of their organogenic performance in in vitro conditions.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Different harvesting dates influence the growth, seed yield and quality of two rice varieties in Ghana

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agricultural Research, Innovation and Technology
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a staple food which contains a high amount of nutrients essential for human nutrition, energy supply, and food security. Despite its nutritional value, it does not reach its physiological maturity at the same time thereby ...

Effect of genotypes on soyabean seed quality development under West African Rainfed conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Effect of genotypes on soyabean seed quality development was monitored under rainfed conditions at Abeokuta between July and November, 1997. A consistent increase in rate of normal germination and seedling emergence occurred among early harvests ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Growth response to temperature of two maize (Zea mays L.) hybrids with differing levels of cold tolerance : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science in Plant Science (Seed Technology), Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Low temperatures are a hazard to maize production especially in high altitude and high latitude areas (Eagles, 1979; Hardacre and Eagles, 1986) where it may cause substantial yield reductions through its accumulated effect on vegetative and reprodutive ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Nutrient allocations and metabolism in two collembolans with contrasting reproduction and growth strategies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Physiological mechanisms such as allocation and release of nutrients are keys to understanding an animal\u27s adaptation to a particular habitat. This study investigated how two detrivores with contrasting life‐history traits allocated carbon (C) and ...
