Reconstruction of the Late Miocene to Pliocene continental succession of Samos Island: Palaeoenvironmental implications for the Eastern Aegean domain

The Neogene series of Samos Island show a complex succession of continental depositional environments. Saline lakes suggest episodic ingressions of marine‐related water or groundwater inflows. Climate is the main controlling factor on the depositional record of Samos and neighbouring regions.
