Rapid green synthesis of silver nanoparticles from silver nitrate by a homeopathic mother tincture Phytolacca Decandra

Zhong Xi Yi Jie He Xue Bao, 2012
To examine if a homeopathic mother tincture (Phytolacca Decandra) is capable of precipitating silver nanoparticles from silver nitrate (AgNO(3)) and to characterize the biosynthesized nanoparticles for evaluating their biological activities.A total of 100 mg of AgNO(3) was added to 20mL of Milli-Q water and stirred vigorously.

Phytolaccanin, der Farbstoff der Kermesbeere (Phytolacca decandra L.). 1. Mitteilung zur Kenntnis der Betacyane

Helvetica Chimica Acta, 1961
The major red‐violet pigment of Phytolacca decandra L. (pokeberry), called phytolaccanin, has been isolated and crystallized. The elementary analysis, the UV.‐, visible and 1R.‐spectra and the electrophoretic as well as the chromatographic behaviour on paper indicated its identity with betanin, the pigment of the red beet.
