Studies on the mechanism of action of cymoxanil in Phytophthora infestans

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 1987
Abstract Colony growth and germ tube emergence of sporangia and encysted zoospores of Phytophthora infestans were highly sensitive to cymoxanil (ED50 0.5–1.5 μg/ml), whereas differentiation of sporangia and zoospore release were insensitive at concentrations up to 100 μg/ml. Treated sporangia did not show distorted germ tubes.

Krumpirova plijesan (Phytophthora infestans)

Observations on infection by Phytophthora infestans

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1964
The relationship of the number of zoospores of P. infestons applied as inoculum on disks of potato tuber tissue to the incidence and rate of development of infection was investigated by means of dilution and mixed inoculum experiments and by observations on incubation time.

Pectinesterases from Phytophthora infestans

1988
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the assay method and purification of pectinesterases from Phytophthora infestans. The chapter uses simple and less time-consuming method that has been used successfully. Like the titration method it is based on the decrease in pH of the reaction mixture due to increase in free carboxyl groups during enzyme ...

Phytophthora infestans: populations, pathogenicity and phenylamides

Pest Management Science, 2002
AbstractIsolates of Phytophthora infestans (Mont) de Bary (the potato and tomato late blight pathogen) resistant to phenylamides appeared in Europe and North America in the late 1970s and early 1990s respectively. Concurrent, but coincidentally, with both these events there were radical structural shifts in the pathogen populations as immigrant ...
