Movement ofPhytophthoraspp. in Maryland's Nursery Trade [PDF]
Phytophthora spp. cause major losses in the nursery industry worldwide. However, a clear demonstration of the route of movement has not been previously shown. A survey of 10 Maryland nurseries was conducted over a 3-year period to investigate the presence of Phytophthora spp. on newly arrived plants, mainly from West Coast suppliers.

Abstract The European Commission submitted to the EFSA Panel on Plant Health a Dossier from the United States proposing the use of a vacuum–steam–heat treatment as a stand‐alone phytosanitary measure to mitigate the risk of entry of Bretziella fagacearum, Geosmithia morbida and its vector Pityophthorus juglandis (thousand cankers disease complex) into ...

Phytophthora megakarya and Phytophthora palmivora, closely related causal agents of cacao black pod rot, underwent increases in genome sizes and gene numbers by different mechanisms [PDF]
Phytophthora megakarya (Pmeg) and Phytophthora palmivora (Ppal) are closely related species causing cacao black pod rot. Although Ppal is a cosmopolitan pathogen, cacao is the only known host of economic importance for Pmeg.

sORF-Encoded Polypeptide SEP1 Is a Novel Virulence Factor of Phytophthora Pathogens
Diseases caused by the notorious Phytophthora spp. result in enormous economic losses to crops and forests. Increasing evidence suggests that small open reading frame-encoded polypeptides (SEPs) participate in environmental responses of animals, plants ...
