Abstract Riverine dissolved silicon (DSi) dynamics reflect integrated geologic, hydrologic, climatic, and ecological controls. We compiled annual DSi data for 337 rivers across four continents and trained interpretable machine‐learning models to predict concentrations and yields from 28 watershed variables.

Abstract During the early Cenozoic greenhouse period, counterintuitive contractions in tropical Pacific oxygen‐deficient zones have been linked to enhanced deep‐ocean ventilation, yet direct geological evidence remains limited. Here we present molybdenum (Mo) isotopic records from International Ocean Discovery Program Site U1509.

Synoptic Features Driving the CO2 Sink in the Mediterranean Sea in Winter
Abstract The Mediterranean Sea is a weak sink for the atmospheric CO2 with the October‐March extended winter season characterized by the occurrence of high CO2 sink events. Here, we analyzed state‐of‐the‐art ocean and atmospheric reanalyses and observational data sets to investigate the variability of the winter sink and its relation with synoptic ...

Abstract Accurate characterization of particulate organic carbon (POC) stock is essential for understanding regional biological pump processes, yet the roles of vertical structure and integration depth in regulating POC stock variability remain unclear in marginal seas. Using a performance‐evaluated 3D POC data set, we assessed POC stock changes in the

Abstract Observations reveal significant negative trends in reflected shortwave radiation over the 21st century. The global‐mean darkening is primarily driven by clouds, while the global‐mean atmospheric clear‐sky signal is near zero due to offsetting trends in the two hemispheres.
