Callus induction and micropropagation improved by colchicine and phytoregulators in Kappaphycus alvarezii (Rhodophyta, Solieriaceae)

Journal of Applied Phycology, 2007
Tissue culture techniques were applied for micropropagation of the red alga Kappaphycus alvarezii in order to select the best strain and experimental system for in vitro culture. Five strains were tested: brown (BR), green (GR) and red (RD) tetrasporophytes, brown female gametophyte (BFG), and a strain originating from tetraspore germination (“Edison ...

A role of the molecular structure of phytoregulators in chemical signal perception by receptors of plant hormonal systems

Moscow University Chemistry Bulletin, 2007
The role of the molecular structure of phytoregulators in chemical signal perception by receptors of plant hormonal systems and the character of complementarity of a phytoregulator to a receptor have been considered on the basis of (1) the mechanism of signal perception and transduction in a plant cell and (2) the postulates of the physiological ...

[Glutamate dehydrogenase activity of Bradyrhizobium japonicum in the presence of phytoregulators].

Mikrobiolohichnyi zhurnal (Kiev, Ukraine : 1993), 2006
Influence of plant growth regulators ivin and emistim C, and flavonoids daidzein and quercetin on the glutamate dehydrogenase activity of soybean nodule bacteria, with contrasting symbiotic properties, were studied. It was shown that all used phytoregulators stimulated glutamate dehydrogenase activity of Bradyrhizobium japonicum 71t (the strain with ...

Use of phytoregulators in overcoming macaw palm seed dormancy

2013
The macaw palm is a tropical palm with significant potential for biofuel production; however, seed dormancy is a major factor limiting its agro-industrial use. The present study evaluated the effects of phytoregulators in overcoming macaw palm seed dormancy.

Nematocidal effects of natural phytoregulators jasmonic acid and methyl-jasmonate againstPratylenchus zeaeandHelicotylenchus spp.

Natural Product Research, 2013
The aim of this study was to evaluate the nematocidal effects of natural phytoregulators jasmonic acid (JA) and methyl-jasmonate (MJ) against plant parasitic nematodes Pratylenchus zeae (Graham) (Pratylenchidae) and Helicotylenchus spp. (Hoplolaimidae). Both JA and MJ promoted elevated percentages of mortality in P. zeae and Helicotylenchus spp.

Potent phytoregulators from Pyrenacantha volubilis targeting ERα: a promising natural alternative for breast cancer therapy

3 Biotech
Selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) play a vital role in ER + ve breast cancer therapy, but existing synthetic drugs have limitations. This study explores Pyrenacantha volubilis as a potential natural source for SERM using molecular docking, ADMET profiling, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, and MM-GBSA analysis, using the Schrödinger ...
