Statistical detection of spatial plant patterns under the effect of forest use [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The analysis of the consequences of land use (in particular forest use) may be considered as a partial step towards an integrated modelling of a land system.

FloraVeg.EU — An online database of European vegetation, habitats and flora

open access: yesApplied Vegetation Science, Volume 27, Issue 3, July/September 2024.
FloraVeg.EU is a new online database of European vegetation, habitats and flora. The Vegetation module contains an updated standard European vegetation classification (EuroVegChecklist). The Habitats module includes vascular‐plant‐dominated habitat types of the EUNIS habitat classification.

A deep‐learning framework for enhancing habitat identification based on species composition

open access: yesApplied Vegetation Science, Volume 27, Issue 3, July/September 2024.
Hdm‐framework, by leveraging vascular plant species composition coupled with environmental data, enhances vegetation classification, clearly outperforming the traditional expert systems on habitat type identification. The deep‐learning models, trained on European flora, offer unparalleled accuracy, efficiency and robustness across diverse ecosystems ...

New Proposals on Portuguese Vegetation (II) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
As a consequence of the geobotanical studies that have been developed in west and southern areas of the Iberian Peninsula, four new phytosociological associations are proposed, integrated in the perennial mesophytic grasslands of Stipo giganteae ...

Phytosociology of the shrub-arboreal stratum of the Ibura National Forest, Northeastern Brazil: are 35 years sufficient to promote the regeneration of a forest fragment?

open access: yes, 2020
portuguesEntre as varias aplicacoes da fitossociologia, a avaliacao da regeneracao natural possui grande importância, principalmente porque fornece subsidios para restauracao ecologica. Diante disso, este trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de analisar

Dutch landscapes have lost insect‐pollinated plants over the past 87 years

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 61, Issue 6, Page 1323-1333, June 2024.
This study implies that Dutch landscapes are losing insect‐pollinated plant species, which is likely due, at least in part, to the decline in pollination services. Our results of quantifying the decline in insect‐pollinated plants support the necessity and urgency of taking conservation initiatives.

Dynamics of bog-pine-dominated mires in the Jura Mountains, Switzerland: A tentative scheme based on synusial phytosociology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A description of the bog-pine (Pinus uncinata var.rotundata) dominated vegetation of uncut oligotrophic mires affected by drainage is given. Surveys were carried out at 17 sites along the Jura Mountains (Switzerland and France) in 1993, 1994, and 1995 ...

The phytosociology and synecology of Tasmanian vegetation with Callitris [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Eleven discernible floristic plant communities were identified in vegetatlon containing Callitris in Tasmania. C.rhomboidea and C. oblonga largely segregate into two sets of communities.

Phytosociological investigations of steppe and steppe forest vegetation in the south-east part of Central Anatolia of Turkey

open access: yesİstanbul Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesi Dergisi, 2017
To gain a better understanding of the ecological systems, it is necessary to study the development, composition, and classification of the steppe and steppe forest communities, which are the primary components of phytocoenoses in semi-arid environments.

Transformation of Forest Vegetation After 40 Years of Protection in the Tomczyce Nature Reserve (Central Poland) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The Tomczyce nature reserve is characterized by a degenerated forest vegetation. We assume that the regeneration process was possible to launch after the establishment of the nature reserve in 1968.
