A comparative study of MPPT and voltage regulator controllers for controlling output voltage in PV applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The demand for renewable energy sources is more and more increasing on each passing year. Since with the increasing number of the human population, the demand for energy is increasing at an alarming state. Petroleum resources are very limited and in this

Quantum proportional-integral (PI) control

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
Abstract Feedback control is an essential component of many modern technologies and provides a key capability for emergent quantum technologies. We extend existing approaches of direct feedback control in which the controller applies a function directly proportional to the output signal (P feedback), to strategies in which feedback ...

Development of Power Electronic Distribution Transformer Based on Adaptive PI Controller

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In recent years, power electronic distribution transformers (PEDTs) have become an attractive replacement for conventional transformers. This is due to their smaller size, improved dynamic performance, and better power quality.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Min-Max Controller Output Configuration to Improve Multi-model Predictive Control when Dealing with Disturbance Rejection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology, 2015
A Multiple Model Predictive Control (MMPC) approach is proposed to control a nonlinear distillation column. This control framework utilizes the best local linear models selected to construct the MMPC.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
