A New Design Method for PI-PD Control of Unstable Fractional-Order System with Time Delay

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
In this paper, a practical PI-PD controller parameter tuning method is proposed, which uses the incenter of the triangle and the Fermat point of the convex polygon to optimize the PI-PD controller.

HIL real-time simulation of a digital fractional order PI controller for time delay processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Fractional order control has been used extensively in the last decade for controlling various types of processes. Several design approaches have been proposed so far, the closed loop performance results obtained being tested using different simulation ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Aplikasi Metode Neuro-Fuzzy Pada Sistem Pengendalian Antisurge Kompresor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Operating condition that unstabil to compressor is called surge, which defined as self oscillations between pressure and flow, that can cause serious damage to compressor. Because of this problem, it is necessary to design of antisurge compressor control.

Prediction for control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
5th IFAC Conference on System Structure and Control 1998 (SSC'98), Nantes, France, 8-10 JulyThis paper shows that "optimal" controllers based on "optimal" predictor structures are not "optimal" in their closed loop behaviour and that predictors should be

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Robust PI Controller Design Satisfying Sensitivity and Uncertainty Specifications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper presents a control design method for determining proportional-integral-type controllers satisfying specifications on gain margin, phase margin, and an upper bound on the (complementary) sensitivity for a finite set of plants.

Modeling and Control of High-Voltage Direct-Current Transmission Systems: From Theory to Practice and Back

open access: yes, 2015
The problem of modeling and control of multi-terminal high-voltage direct-current transmission systems is addressed in this paper, which contains five main contributions.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Plane geometry and convexity of polynomial stability regions

open access: yes, 2008
The set of controllers stabilizing a linear system is generally non-convex in the parameter space. In the case of two-parameter controller design (e.g.
