High-power picosecond laser pulse recirculation [PDF]
We demonstrate a nonlinear crystal-based short pulse recirculation cavity for trapping the second harmonic of an incident high-power laser pulse. This scheme aims to increase the efficiency and flux of Compton-scattering-based light sources. We demonstrate up to 40x average power enhancement of frequency-doubled submillijoule picosecond pulses, and 17x

Highly water‐soluble dicationic bis(indolium) dyes have been prepared, showing excellent two‐photon absorption and light emission. Their fluorescence behavior discloses an unusual increasing blue shift with increasing solvent polarity, which, in parallel, is beneficial for enhanced detection in biological media.

Theoretical Study of Ultra-Fast Laser Lift-Off of Carbon Nanotube-Integrated Polyimide Films
In this paper, ultra-fast laser lift-off (LLO) of carbon nanotube (CNT)-integrated polyimide film (PI) was investigated by different laser burst mode and pulse intervals using the two-temperature model. By comparing the temperature field distributions of

Picosecond high-repetition-rate pulsed laser ablation of dielectrics: the effect of energy accumulation between pulses [PDF]
We report experiments on the ablation of arsenic trisulphide and silicon using high-repetition-rate (megahertz) trains of picosecond pulses. In the case of arsenic trisulphide, the average single pulse fluence at ablation threshold is found to be >100 ...

Towards coherent optical control of a single hole spin: rabi rotation of a trion conditional on the spin state of the hole [PDF]
A hole spin is a potential solid-state q-bit, that may be more robust against nuclear spin induced dephasing than an electron spin. Here we propose and demonstrate the sequential preparation, control and detection of a single hole spin trapped on a self ...
