A New Concept in Picosecond Lasers [PDF]
AbstractOver the last decade, mode‐locked laser sources in the ten picosecond pulse regime expanded into medical applications and high‐precision micro‐material machining. However, the complexity and the alignment sensitivity of picosecond lasers translated to higher cost and impeded a broader market entry.

Over 20-W Mid-Infrared Picosecond Optical Parametric Oscillator
We report on a high-average-power mid-infrared picosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO) synchronously pumped by a Nd:YVO4 mode-locked laser. By use of the MgO-doped periodically poled LiNbO3 as the nonlinear crystal, up to 20.2-W picosecond laser ...

Wavelength-Tunable Nonlinear Mirror Mode-Locked Laser Based on MgO-Doped Lithium Niobate
We present a high-power, wavelength-tunable picosecond Yb3+: CaGdAlO4 (Yb:CALGO) laser based on MgO-doped lithium niobate (MgO:LN) nonlinear mirror mode locking. The output wavelength in the continuous wave (CW) regime is tunable over a 45 nm broad range.

Sensitivity of coherent anti-Stokes Raman lineshape to time asymmetry of laser pulses
We show that coherent anti-Stokes Raman lineshapes do not follow known spectral profiles if the time asymmetry of realistic laser pulses is taken into account.

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Generation and measurement of sub-picosecond electron bunch in photocathode rf gun
We consider a scheme to generate sub-picosecond electron bunch in the photocathode rf gun by improving the acceleration gradient in the gun, suitably tuning the bunch charge, the laser spot size and the acceleration phase, and reducing the growth of ...
