Excited-State Dynamics of Carbazole and tert-Butyl-Carbazole in Thin Films
Thin films of carbazole (Cz) derivatives are frequently used in organic electronics, such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Because of the proximity of the Cz units, the excited-state relaxation in such films is complicated, as intermolecular ...

Beam distortion detection technique for picosecond ultrasonics
Beam distortion detection (BDD) technique was successfully used for the detection of picosecond longitudinal and shear acoustic pulses in micrometric metallic layers. It is optimised for the measurement of the displacement pulse shape. In this communication the application of BDD for the evaluation of displacement acoustic echoes in 250 nm tungsten ...

Intrinsic Mechanical Parameters and their Characterization in Solid‐State Lithium Batteries
This review focuses on the intrinsic mechanical parameters and their associated characterization in solid‐state batteries. The physical significance of mechanics parameters is introduced with exhaustive classifications by elastic, plastic deformations and fracture in bulk, adhesion, friction at interfaces, and mechanical fatigue in cells ...

Generation and remote detection of THz sound using semiconductor superlattices
The authors introduce a novel approach to study the propagation of high frequency acoustic phonons in which the generation and detection involves two spatially separated superlattices $\sim 1 {\rm \mu m}$ apart.

Sonoluminescing air bubbles rectify argon [PDF]
The dynamics of single bubble sonoluminescence (SBSL) strongly depends on the percentage of inert gas within the bubble. We propose a theory for this dependence, based on a combination of principles from sonochemistry and hydrodynamic stability.

We present a dual‐loop methodology for real‐time mapping of interfacial pH that distinguishes electric field effects from changes in proton activity. This universal tool reveals significant pH gradients and identifies ion mobility and buffer capacity as key regulators, providing crucial insights for optimizing electrocatalyst performance in energy ...

Nonresonant Surface‐Enhanced Hyper Raman Scattering of Aromatic Amino Acids on Gold Nanoparticles
The surface‐enhanced hyper Raman spectra of the three aromatic amino acids phenylalanine, tryptophan, and tyrosine, obtained with nonresonant excitation at a wavelength of 1064 nm, are reported. The data are discussed in the context of the interaction of the molecules with two gold nanoparticle plasmonic substrates, as well as intermolecular ...

Quantum‐Grade Nanodiamonds from a Single‐Step, Industrial‐Scale Pressure and Temperature Process
Novel method for creation of nitrogen‐vacancy centers in 50‐nm nanodiamonds based on high‐temperature plastic deformation is demonstrated. Compared to the electron irradiation approach, it yields nitrogen‐vacancy centers with significantly improved charge stability, T1 relaxation time, and optical Rabi contrast.
