Bioactive anthraquinone glycosides from Picramnia antidesma ssp. Fessonia
Phytochemistry, 1995A bioactivity guided fractionation, using KB cells and brine shrimp assays, of the methanolic extract from the leaves of Picramnia antidesma yielded two known anthraquinones, aloe-emodin and aloe-emodin anthrone, and three new aloe-emodin C-glycosides, named picramnioside A, picramnioside B and picramnioside C.

In this study, HPLC-PDA-HRMS-SPE-NMR data were used for initial analysis of the CH2Cl2 fraction of an EtOH extract of the leaves of Picramnia glazioviana. The HRMS, UV, and NMR data obtained from the HPLC-PDA-HRMS-SPE-NMR analysis were used to direct semipreparative HPLC isolation toward nortriterpenoids, which resulted in the isolation of 18 new and ...

Anthrone and Oxanthrone C-Glycosides from Picramnia latifolia Collected in Peru
Journal of Natural Products, 2004Cytotoxicity-based, bioassay-guided fractionation of the chloroform-soluble extracts of both the roots and leaves of Picramnia latifolia led to the isolation of two new anthrone C-glycosides, picramniosides G (1) and H (2), two new oxanthrone C-glycosides, mayosides D (3) and E (4), and a new benzanthrone natural product, 6,8-dihydroxy-10-methyl-7H ...

Abstract A natural dye extracted from Picramnia sellowii (Chokanari) was used to prepare sensitized TiO 2 films. Dyes and heterotrophic microorganisms present in wastewater were treated by photocatalysis using visible light. A factorial design 2 3 was employed to select the operational conditions to sensitize TiO 2 films.

Two highly oxygenated nortriterpenes, picraviane A and B, were isolated from the ethanolic extract of Picramnia glazioviana Engl. The structures were determined by analysis of HRMS and 2D NMR spectroscopic data. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction data was also obtained for picraviane B.

Phylogenomic analysis of Picramnia, Alvaradoa, and Leitneria supports the independent Picramniales
Journal of Systematics and Evolution, 2017AbstractPicramniales is a recently established monotypic order that has not yet acquired a stable position on the phylogenetic tree of flowering plants. While Picramnia and Alvaradoa were transferred from Simaroubaceae (Sapindales) into Picramniaceae (Picramniales), Leitneria was transferred from the “hamamelids” into Simaroubaceae.
