Picrosirius Red in the visualization of fibrosis

Knjiga sažetaka 2. zajedničkog skupa hrvatskih društava za patologiju i citologiju
Fibroza je patološki proces formiranja prekomjernog vezivnog tkiva. Rezultira strukturalnim oštećenjem i smanjenjem funkcije zahvaćenog tkiva. Mikroskopskim pregledom uočavamo pojavljivanje gustih tračaka fibroznog tkiva s pojavom uvećanog broja fibroblasta. U patološkoj se dijagnostici fibroze, uz standardna, koriste i specijalna histokemijska bojenja

EVALUATION OF THE WOUND HEALING PROCESS BY IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY AND PICROSIRIUS RED STAINING

2017
Non-healing wounds, also known as chronic wounds, are defined as wounds that do not show improvement in healing within four weeks. Chronic wounds affect millions of people around the world and health care expenses in the United States can cost more than one billion dollars.

Intestinal Anastomosis Healing in Rat: Collagen Concentration and Histochemical Characterization by Picrosirius Red Staining and Polarizing Microscopy

Experimental and Molecular Pathology, 1995
The study was designed to characterize collagen fibers in the healing intestinal anastomosis of rat by examining collagen concentration and recording the polarization colors of the collagen fibers in Picrosirius red-stained tissue sections. No significant changes in collagen concentration expressed by hydroxyproline content were noted at the ...

Connective tissue nevi collagens. Study with picrosirius red and polarizing microscopy.

The American Journal of dermatopathology, 1991
Biopsy specimens of five connective tissue nevi were examined under crossed polars after staining with Picrosirius red. One biopsy specimen was from a solitary nevus, another from a Shagreen patch. The other three specimens were of erupted nevi. In all cases, thick (as well as thin) collagen fibers appeared green to yellow. In contrast, thick fibers of

Whole slide image analysis of Picrosirius red staining: an automated digital processing workflow

Poster presented as part of the Crick BioImage Analysis Symposium 2023.Capturing brightfield Picrosirius red (PSR) stained images facilitates the visualisation and quantification of collagen matrix features at high resolution. However, staining variation across formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tumour samples makes highthroughput analysis challenging ...
