Fuzzy precompensated PID controllers
IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 1994While proportional integral derivative (PID) controllers are widely used in industrial applications, they exhibit poor performance when applied to systems containing unknown nonlinearities, such as deadzones, saturation, and hysteresis. In this paper, the authors propose a fuzzy logic-based precompensation approach for PID controllers.

Fragility analysis of PID controllers
2009 IEEE Control Applications, (CCA) & Intelligent Control, (ISIC), 2009A set of controllers' fragility plots based on the delta epsilon fragility index, is proposed as a tool to analyze the influence of the proportional integral derivative (PID) controller parameters' variations over the control loop robustness. Examples are used to illustrate the use of the plots.

Identification and PID control for a quadrocopter
2014 International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP), 2014Identification and control of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) has been a topic of interest in recent years due to several applications they are used for, some examples could be: surveillance or cooperative robotics. This paper shows the parameter identification and control of the AR Drone®, a quadrocopter from Parrot®; the parameter identification was ...

A discrete-time proportional integral derivative (PID) controller, the manipulated variable of which takes two values, i.e., ON and OFF, is proposed and analyzed. Oversampling technology is employed in the controller design. As to the structure of the controller, a cascade type and a built-in type are proposed. An experimental example is presented.

Comparative Study on Fuzzy PID Controller and Conventional PID Controller
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013PID controller is simple, stable and reliable. But the controller parameters cannot adjust themselves when the object varies. To solve the problem, this paper combined fuzzy control and PID controller, realized self-adjustment of PID parameters using fuzzy reasoning method, analysed the advantages over the traditional PID controller. The simulation was

Developments of fuzzy PID controllers
Expert Systems, 2005Abstract: This paper describes the development and tuning methods for a novel self-organizing fuzzy proportional integral derivative (PID) controller. Before applying fuzzy logic, the PID gains are tuned using a conventional tuning method. At supervisory level, fuzzy logic readjusts the PID gains online.
