A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Piecewise nonlinear approximation for non-smooth functions
Piecewise affine or linear approximation has garnered significant attention as a technique for approximating piecewise-smooth functions. In this study, we propose a novel approach: piecewise non-linear approximation based on rational approximation, aimed

Defect correction from a galerkin viewpoint [PDF]
We consider the numerical solution of systems of nonlinear two point boundary value problems by Galerkin's method. An initial solution is computed with piecewise linear approximating functions and this is then improved by using higher—order piecewise ...

We show that all finite-dimensional resolvable generalized manifolds with the piecewise disjoint arc-disk property are codimension one manifold factors. We then show how the piecewise disjoint arc-disk property and other general position properties that ...

Screen gate‐based transistors are presented, enabling tunable analog sigmoid and Gaussian activations. The SA‐transistor improves MRI classification accuracy, while the GA‐transistor supports precise Gaussian kernel tuning for forecasting. Both functions are implemented in a single device, offering compact, energy‐efficient analog AI processing ...

Phase‐Change Solvents for Thermally Switchable Ion Conduction in Organogels
Organogels containing salts dissolved in phase‐change solvents exhibit thermally switchable ion conduction. The organogels, which display an over 10 000‐fold on‐off ratio and high cycling stability, can be synthesized with a wide range of salts and customizable conductivity/temperature relations for applications in ionotronics and energy storage ...

Piecewise hazard model for under-five child mortality
OBJECTIVE: The application of piecewise hazard model in mortality data becomes more useful over classical survival methods. This method is used to find the number of location of cut points and estimate the hazard model.
