Mechanism of Fixed Pattern Noise of Micro‐Channel Plate Focusing on Cross‐Section of Single Channel

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The movement of secondary electrons to the phosphor screen after avalanche in microchannel plate (MCP) is influenced by the single channel cross‐sectional shape. The secondary electron beam emitted from MCP channels with different cross‐sectional shapes affects the energy and position upon striking the phosphor screen, directly impacting FPN (Fixed ...

Piecewise planar underwater mosaicing

open access: yesOCEANS 2015 - Genova, 2015
A commonly ignored problem in planar mosaics, yet often present in practice, is the selection of a reference homography reprojection frame where to attach the successive image frames of the mosaic. A bad choice for the reference frame can lead to severe distortions in the mosaic and can degenerate in incorrect configurations after some sequential frame

Materials Selection Principles for Designing Electro‐Thermal Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Materials property – performance relations are established for new and old electrical materials leveraged as electro‐thermal oscillators emulating neuron dynamics. Robust, reconfigurable, high frequency, low power characteristics are explicitly tied to highly nonlinear electrical transport, small specific heat, and greater electrical than thermal ...

Generative Ai for Cardiovascular Cell Type‐Specific Fluorescence Colorization of Live‐Cell hPSC‐Derived Cardiac Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A generative AI system is developed for colorizing phase contrast images of human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC)‐derived cardiac organoids (COs) from bright‐field microscopic imaging using conditional generative adversarial networks (cGANs). By giving these phase contrast images with multichannel fluorescence colorization, this intelligence system ...

Piecewise-linear pseudodiagrams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
There are 2^n possible resolutions of a smooth pseudodiagram with n precrossings. If we consider piecewise-linear (PL) pseudodiagrams and resolutions that themselves are PL, certain resolutions of the pseudodiagram may not exist in three-space.

A Novel Parameter Estimation Method for Pneumatic Soft Hand Control Applying Logarithmic Decrement for Pseudo‐Rigid Body Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
In this research, a paradigm of parameter estimation method for pneumatic soft hand control is proposed. The method includes the following: 1) sampling harmonic damping waves, 2) applying pseudo‐rigid body modeling and the logarithmic decrement method, and 3) deriving position and force control.

Piecewise scalable frames

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications
In this paper we define "piecewise scalable frames". This new scaling process allows us to alter many frames to Parseval frames which is impossible by the previous standard scaling. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for a frame to be piecewise scalable. We show that piecewise scalability is preserved under unitary transformations.
