Abstract: In this note, we present some observations related to piecewise deterministic Markov processes. We also give some explicit representations for invariant and first-crossing time distributions.

Can Piecewise deterministic Markov process help biologist?
In the first part, I'll present some work in which we've tried to model bacterial growth. This will involve a comparison of different possible models, followed by parameter estimation for a growth model dictated by bacterial size. For this, a particular PMDP (piecewise deterministic Markov process) will appear.
