ReLU Networks Are Universal Approximators via Piecewise Linear or Constant Functions
This letter proves that a ReLU network can approximate any continuous function with arbitrary precision by means of piecewise linear or constant approximations. For univariate function f(x), we use the composite of ReLUs to produce a line segment; all of

Design of time delayed chaotic circuit with threshold controller
A novel time delayed chaotic oscillator exhibiting mono- and double scroll complex chaotic attractors is designed. This circuit consists of only a few operational amplifiers and diodes and employs a threshold controller for flexibility.

A cut finite element method for coupled bulk-surface problems on time-dependent domains
In this contribution we present a new computational method for coupled bulk-surface problems on time-dependent domains. The method is based on a space-time formulation using discontinuous piecewise linear elements in time and continuous piecewise linear ...

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Piecewise Linear Regression Based on Plane Clustering
Piecewise linear regressions have shown many successful applications in image denoising, signal process, and data mining fields. In essence, they attempt to seek multiple linear functions (piecewise/stepwise function) to fit the given scatter data points

Discontinuous differential equation for modelling the Antarctic Circumpolar Current
In this paper, we were concerned with the existence of the solution related to the discontinuous differential equation, which corresponded to the stratification phenomenon in the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC). By considering the piecewise vorticity
