Ecol EvolPredation pressure can vary latitudinally and across different prey communities as well as between males and females of the same prey species. Here, the variation in predation pressure on Australian butterflies was assessed using wing damage caused by bird attacks in over 2310 individuals from five butterfly families.

Evolutionary Changes of <i>GT1</i> Provide Insights Into the Adaptation of Butterflies to Plant Feeding. [PDF]
Ecol EvolWe investigated the evolution of glycosyltransferase 1 (GT1) genes in 69 butterfly species to explore their association with host plant adaptation. Our results reveal frequent tandem duplications and adaptive selection in GT1s, especially in UGT33 and UGT40 subfamilies, alongside expression patterns suggesting functional diversification.
