Outstanding Superoxide Dismutase Catalytic Activity Of Simple Peptide‐Based Nickel(II) Complexes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 136, Issue 41, October 7, 2024.
Be positive! A novel Ni superoxide dismutase mimic was engineered, taking advantage of the versatility of the Amino Terminal CuII‐ and NiII‐binding (ATCUN) motif to introduce positive charges around the NiII center. This strategy yielded the most potent synthetic NiSOD mimic reported to date, in terms of catalytic efficacy and stability.

Bayle a Mandeville. Dvě rané konceptualizace společnosti ateistů

open access: yesFilosofický časopis, 2021
A society composed of atheists was thought impossible in early modern Europe. An atheist, it was believed, will not keep a promise since he or she does not fear divine retribution.

Kant on Utopia

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Philosophy, EarlyView.
Abstract Immanuel Kant's The Dispute between the Faculties (1798) contains a footnote referencing four utopian states — Atlantis, Utopia, Oceana, and Severambia. This passage has largely been overlooked in Kantian scholarship. This paper revisits this neglected passage to explore Kant's engagement with utopian literature and its implications for his ...

Interplay between Lithium Intercalation and Plating during Fast Charging of Lithium‐Ion Batteries Investigated by Operando NMR Spectroscopy

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 11, November 2025.
Lithium plating is investigated using operando nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and a three‐electrode design. The onset of plating occurs at a negative potential below −100 mV, while NMR spectra offer insights on the competition between graphite lithiation, plating, and re‐intercalation during charging.

PIERRE BAYLE HISTORIEN DE LA PHILOSOPHIE: UN SONDAGE

open access: yesLexicon Philosophicum, 2017
The critical tradition reduces Bayle’s philosophy to Pyrrhonism and avoids the analysis of his arguments by jumping to the conclusion that he aims to establish the uncertainty of all philosophical reasoning.

Increasing Redox Potential of Pyromellitic Diimide by Chemical Modifications: Toward High‐Voltage Organic Positive Electrode for Lithium Battery

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2025.
Chemical modifications of soluble pyromellitic diimide derivatives with bromo‐ and cyano‐ electron‐withdrawing groups instead of hydrogen lead to an increase of redox potential of 210 and 420 mV respectively compared to the reference. Lithium batteries are considered as the most promising electricity storage solution to support the energy transition ...

Respublica noumenon: Kant, Rousseau, and Plato's Republic

open access: yesThe Southern Journal of Philosophy, Volume 63, Issue 3, Page 387-409, September 2025.
Abstract This article examines the philosophical sources for Kant's interpretation of Plato's Republic and its impact on his conception of the ideal state. I argue that Kant's knowledge of Plato was not derived from Plato's writings, but from secondary accounts.
