C-V characterization of the piezocapacitive effect with a microfabricated cantilever
2012 IEEE 25th International Conference on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS), 2012The piezocapacitve effect of an n-type MOS capacitor is experimentally studied with a micro-fabricated cantilever. It shows that besides the geometrical effect, the stress induced dielectric constant change also contributes to the piezocapacitive behavior.

Abstract In this study, sulfonated Poly(phenylidene sulfide) (sPPS) of varying content (0, 3, 5, 7 and 10 wt.-%) is used as a filler to study the β-crystalline phase changes in electrospun Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)-Poly(octafluoropentyl acrylate) (POFPA) blend (90/10 ratio, abbreviated as P-PFA) nanofiber.

The effects of hydrostatic pressure on the magnetism, capacitance, and impedance of a manganese zinc ferrite device have been investigated. Giant piezomagnetism, piezocapacitance, and piezoimpedance that are independent of skin effects have been observed simultaneously under a pressure of a few megapascals.

Force Sensing Resistors (FSRs) are low-cost alternatives to load cells for pressure and force sensing. Nonetheless, FSRs exhibit a comparative lower repeatability due to their large hysteresis and creep response. The FSRs operate on the basis of the piezoresistive effect, but they have proven to exhibit a piezocapacitive effect too.

Effect of fillers on the piezocapacitive behaviour of silicone rubber particulate composites
Engineering Research ExpressAbstract Robotics and fluid dynamics applications have created demand for development of electronic skins with embedded pressure sensors. These applications require simple and low-cost fabrication processes with large area deployment. Both structured and unstructured material approaches to sensor development have been followed. Among the
