Inversion of the exciton built-in dipole moment in In(Ga)As quantum dots via nonlinear piezoelectric effect

open access: yes, 2017
We show that anisotropic biaxial stress can be used to tune the built-in dipole moment of excitons confined in In(Ga)As quantum dots up to complete erasure of its magnitude and inversion of its sign.

DENTA: A Dual Enzymatic Nanoagent for Self‐Activating Tooth Whitening and Biofilm Disruption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanoapatite with dual enzymes (DENTA) accumulates in dentinal tubules, reducing hypersensitivity caused by dental nerve exposure and facilitating continuous ROS generation through salivary glucose for effective, long‐term whitening. The dentin structures remain non‐destructive due to the low concentration of ROS, demonstrating excellent cell ...

Dynamic Control of Synaptic Plasticity by Competing Ferroelectric and Trap‐Assisted Switching in IGZO Transistors with Al2O3/HfO2 Dielectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A frequency‐tunable ferroelectric synaptic transistor based on a buried‐gate InGaZnO channel and Al2O3/HfO2 dielectric stack exhibits linear and reversible weight updates using single‐polarity pulses. By switching between ferroelectric and trap‐assisted modes depending on input frequency, the device simplifies neuromorphic circuit design and achieves ...

Thermal Stability of Micro-Structured PDMS Piezo-Electrets under Various Polymeric Reticulation Ratios for Sensor Applications

open access: yesProceedings, 2017
The effect of the polymeric reticulation on the thermal stability of the piezoelectricity of a micro-structured PDMS piezo-electret was investigated. This new family of flexible piezoelectric materials with very low Young’s modulus is used for wearable ...

Enhancement of piezoelectricity in a mixed ferroelectric

open access: yes, 1997
We use first-principles density-functional total energy and polarization calculations to calculate the piezoelectric tensor at zero temperature for both cubic and simple tetragonal ordered supercells of Pb_3GeTe_4.

Functional Materials for Environmental Energy Harvesting in Smart Agriculture via Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...

Enhanced Mechanical and Electrochemical Properties of Carbon Nanotube Fibers via Embedded Sucrose‐Derived Porous Carbon for Mechanoelectrochemical Energy Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sucrose‐derived porous carbon network (SPINE‐C) is formed within CNT fibers via FCCVD, bridging inter‐bundles of CNTs and increasing surface area through introduced microporosity. As a result, both mechanical and electrochemical properties are simultaneously enhanced, leading to a 2.8‐fold increase in the power density of a mechano‐electrochemical ...

Role of Extrinsic Contribution to Temperature Stability of Piezoelectricity for (K,Na)NbO3-(Bi,M)ZrO3 Ceramics with Morphotropic Phase Boundary

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Temperature stability of dielectric, ferroelectric, and piezoelectric properties were investigated in situ by choosing (K,Na)NbO3-(Bi,K)ZrO3 (KNN-BKZ), (K,Na)NbO3-(Bi,Na,K,Li)ZrO3 (KNN-BNKLZ), and (K,Na)NbO3-(Bi,Li)ZrO3-(KNN-BLZ) as representative ...
