Reply to Katzir's comment on 'Kelvin and piezoelectricity' [PDF]
This is a reply to Shaul Katzir's comment on 'Kelvin and piezoelectricity' (Trainer 2003 Eur. J. Phys. 24 535–42). The author gives further support to his belief that Kelvin was instrumental in helping to establish the science of piezoelectricity. Kelvin'

Functionally graded metal–ceramic femoral stems are engineered through continuous UMAT‐based stiffness tailoring, eliminating discrete material interfaces while enhancing biomechanical compatibility. Low‐index power‐law gradation optimizes load transfer, reduces stress shielding, and controls implant–bone micromotion, highlighting a materials‐design ...

On discontinuity waves and smooth waves in thermo-piezoelectric bodies [PDF]
The solid body B under consideration is composed of a linear thermo-piezoelectric medium, i.e., a non-magnetizable linearly elastic dielectric medium that is heat conducting and not electric conducting; B has a natural conguration, say a placement of ...

Elastic Properties and Thermal Expansion Behavior of a Polycrystalline VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy
The high‐entropy alloy (HEA) V20Mn20Fe20Co20Ni20 (composition in at.%) can be made single‐phase face‐centered cubic (FCC) when annealed above 1338 K followed by water quenching. In this state, the alloy exhibits the greatest strength‐ductility combination of any quinary single‐phase FCC HEA.
