Piezoelectric mimicry of flexoelectricity [PDF]
The origin of "giant" flexoelectricity, orders of magnitude larger than theoretically predicted, yet frequently observed, is under intense scrutiny. There is mounting evidence correlating giant flexoelectric-like effects with parasitic piezoelectricity ...

First Principles Theories of Piezoelectric Materials
Piezoelectrics have long been studied using parameterized models fit to experimental data, starting with the work of Devonshire in 1954. Much has been learned using such approaches, but they can also miss major phenomena if the materials properties are ...

Challenges during Flash Lamp Annealing of Aerosol‐Deposited Barium Titanate Films
Aerosol deposition is used to rapidly deposit barium titanate films with thicknesses ranging from 2 to 16 μm at room temperature, eliminating the need for further densification. However, to recover the electromechanical properties, annealing is required, which limits the usage of temperature‐sensitive substrates.

Comparison Of Different Auxetic Enhancement Layers For Shunted Piezoelectric Control [PDF]
Piezoelectric patches connected to passive shunt circuits can be applied to structures for effective vibration attenuation. The structure under consideration consists of a beam, piezoelectric patches, and possibly an inserted auxetic layer, enhancing the
