This study uncovers a new switching mechanism in HfO2 and ZrO2, where the absence of a non‐polar layer along the a‐direction induces interaction between polar layers. Consequently, the switching barriers for growth are lower than those for nucleation in this direction, leading to a size‐dependent coercive field that matches experimental observations ...

One-step synthesis of BaTiO3/CaTiO3 core-shell nanocubes by hydrothermal reaction
Novel cube-shaped nanocrystals of BaTiO3 (BT) surrounded by CaTiO3 (CT) that can be used for piezo-driven energy harvesters were synthesized using a one-step hydrothermal reaction with surfactant and additives at 250°C for 24 h.

Power Control Optimization of an Underwater Piezoelectric Energy Harvester [PDF]
Over the past few years, it has been established that vibration energy harvesters with intentionally designed components can be used for frequency bandwidth enhancement under excitation for sufficiently high vibration amplitudes.

A finite element approach for computing edge singularities in piezoelectric materials [PDF]
By using the eigenfunction expansion technique and the weak form of the governing equations for prismatic sectorial domains composed of piezoelectrics and air, an one-dimensional finite element procedure is formulated for computing the eigensolutions of ...
