Giant low-temperature piezoresistance effect in AlAs two-dimensional electrons

open access: yes, 2004
We present piezoresistance measurements in modulation doped AlAs quantum wells where the two-dimensional electron system occupies two conduction band valleys with elliptical Fermi contours. Our data demonstrate that, at low temperatures, the strain gauge

Self-heating in piezoresistive cantilevers [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2011
We report experiments and models of self-heating in piezoresistive microcantilevers that show how cantilever measurement resolution depends on the thermal properties of the surrounding fluid. The predicted cantilever temperature rise from a finite difference model is compared with detailed temperature measurements on fabricated devices.

Meissner Effect and Nonreciprocal Charge Transport in Non‐Topological 1T‐CrTe2/FeTe Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates interface‐induced superconductivity (Tc ∼12 K) with a robust Meissner effect and pronounced nonreciprocal transport in epitaxial 1T‐CrTe2/FeTe heterostructures, where 1T‐CrTe2 is a 2D ferromagnet, and FeTe is an antiferromagnetic metal.
