Degradation of Tetracyclines in Pig Manure by Composting with Rice Straw [PDF]
A holistic approach was followed for utilizing tetracyclines (TCs)-contaminated pig manure, by composting this with rice straw in a greenhouse for CO2 fertilization and composted residue application. After composting, the composted residues can be applied to cropland as a supplemental source of synthetic fertilizers.

Genome surveillance across a swine‐associated One Health continuum in China shows that slaughterhouses act as major enrichment nodes for tet(X4)‐mediated tigecycline resistance, driven by putative clonal transmission and stable plasmid backbones. Integrating global datasets enables lineage‐specific risk stratification, highlighting key control points ...

Source identification and quantification of particulate matter emitted from livestock houses [PDF]
There is need to identify and quantify the contribution of different sources to airborne particulate matter (PM) emissions from animal houses. To this end, we compared the chemical and morphological characteristics of fine and coarse PM from known ...

Dehydrated Mink Manure as a Protein Source for Growing Pigs [PDF]
The use of dehydrated mink manure as a protein source for growing pigs was studied by substituting 7.5 and 15 % (w/w) of the complete feed with manure and a corresponding amount of barley. The manure used had a poor feed value as compared to the values obtained earlier in digestibility tests in minks. The crude protein content was 21.3 %.

More than proteins for empty stomachs: Wild meat in the BaTonga food system
Abstract Our paper highlights the limitations of the framework used by many conservation‐focused programmes that incorporate food security objectives. This framework encourages the substitution of wild proteins with domestic proteins by promoting animal farming in communities located near conservation areas.

Legume plants offer generous benefits for both the planet and people by supporting sustainable farming, food and feed systems through their ability to symbiotically fix atmospheric nitrogen. While grain legumes are cultivated and consumed globally, their adoption, market development, and integration into cropping systems vary.

Nutrient and pH stability in liquid manure production and usage for pond fertilization [PDF]
Nutrient content of organic manure vary according to the composition which determines the fertility and efficiency. The effectiveness of liquid manure depends on the N.P.K value of the manure source.
