A Complete, Continuous, and Minimal Product of Exponentials-Based Model for Five-Axis Machine Tools Calibration With a Single Laser Tracker, an R-Test, or a Double Ball-Bar

Journal of manufacturing science and engineering, 2019
Calibration is an important way to improve and guarantee the accuracy of machine tools. This paper presents a systematic approach for position independent geometric errors (PIGEs) calibration of five-axis machine tools based on the product of ...

PIGE analysis and profiling of aluminium

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2008
Abstract In this work we present an alternative method for PIGE analysis of aluminium in thick samples. This method is based on the ERYA – emitted radiation yield analysis – code, which integrates the nuclear reaction excitation function along the depth of the sample.

The sensitivity of the PIGE analytical technique

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2007
The aim of this work is to provide a basis for the estimation of fluorine and lithium contributions to the background of gamma-ray spectra and of their influence on PIGE (Proton-Induced Gamma-Ray Emission) detection limits of lithium, boron, fluorine and sodium.

Determination of13C in breath sample by PIGE

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1991
This paper discusses a novel application of PIGE for the determination of13C in breath. Samples of human breath, urea, glucose, benzamide, barium carbonate were analyzed against cylinder CO2 and graphite standard. An accuracy check of the13C determination (with reference to mass spectrometric “True” results) gave a relative error of only −0.4% for PIGE.

External-beam PIGE for fluorine determination in atmospheric aerosol

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1998
Abstract Air pollution measurements have been performed at Montelupo, a town about 20 km west of Florence, characterised by the presence of a large number of ceramic and glass factories just inside the inhabited area. Both filters collecting aerosols during 24 h and streaker filters with 1-h resolution capability have been analysed, using external ...

Quantitative analysis of Li by PIGE technique

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2017
Abstract In this work, the cross section of the reactions 7Li(p,pγ)7Li (γ – 478 keV) at the proton energy range 2.0–4.2 MeV was measured. The measurements were carried out at the 3 MV Tandem Accelerator at the CTN/IST Laboratory in Lisbon. To validate the obtained results, calculated gamma-ray yields were compared, at several proton energy values ...
