Piggyback Lenses in Keratoconus
Cornea, 1993Intolerance to rigid contact lenses in keratoconus may occur as a result of epithelial pathology or a suboptimal fitting. The application of a soft lens as a bandage makes it possible to tolerate a rigid lens over it. This study gives the results of 40 eyes in 26 patients who were consecutively fitted with a new aspheric combination lens.

Piggyback‐Acquired Hypertrichosis
Pediatric Dermatology, 2014AbstractA 9‐month‐old girl exposed to 5% topical minoxidil for 2 months developed generalized hypertrichosis of the exposed and unexposed areas of her body. The infant's grandfather had been using minoxidil daily and then propping the baby on his shoulders for an hour or more a day.

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 1999
In video-on-demand systems, users expect to watch a film right after its selection. Nonetheless, such a short response time is feasible only if there is available bandwidth. In line with that, several techniques have been proposed to reduce the huge bandwidth demand on video servers. In this paper, we introduce the Piggybacking policy S^2, which adds a

The SERENDIP piggyback SETI project
Acta Astronautica, 1992The SERENDIP project is an ongoing program of monitoring and processing broadband radio signals acquired by existing radio astronomy observatories. SERENDIP operates in a piggyback mode: it makes use of whatever observing plan (sequence of frequencies, sky coordinates, and polarizations) is under way at its host observatory.

Piggyback intraocular lens implantation
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2000The piggyback method of implanting two intraocular lenses in one eye has been successfully expanded to address pseudophakic refractive error in normal eyes and eyes that have undergone post-penetrating keratoplasty. Piggyback implantation has been combined with the use of newly available minus-power lenses to provide appropriate power for a cataract ...

A Case for “Piggyback” Runtime Monitoring
2012A runtime monitor enforcing a constraint on sequences of method calls on an object must keep track of the state of the sequence by updating an appropriate state machine. The present paper stems from the observation that an object's member fields must already contain an encoding of that state machine, and that a monitor essentially duplicates operations
