From Food to Power: Hydrogel Thermoelectrics for Ingestible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a fully edible thermoelectric–electrochromic platform that harvests heat from food and converts it into a visible color change. N‐type and p‐type hydrogel thermoelectric generators connected in series power anthocyanin‐based electrochromic displays, demonstrating the feasibility of safe, biodegradable, ingestible systems for on‐food ...

Natural Biomaterials for Osteochondral Repair: From Source to Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Biological origin‐guided overview of natural biomaterials and therapeutic strategies for osteochondral tissue engineering. The circular diagram categorizes representative materials and strategies into plant/algae‐derived, microbial‐derived, animal‐derived, and human‐derived sources, centered on an osteochondral defect repair model.

Novel and ecofriendly synthesis of Ag-TiO2-G photocatalyst and investigate the effect of graphene in photodegradation of an organic pollutant in water [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Water and Environmental Nanotechnology, 2019
In this paper, Ag-TiO2-Graphene (Ag-TiO2-G) photocatalyst is synthesized via an economic and green rout. Pranus Cerasus is applied as a green reducing agent due to the presence of anthocyanin pigment. The anthocyanin molecules are responsible for the red

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Mapping of a novel locus regulating anthocyanin pigmentation in Brassica rapa

open access: yesBreeding Science, 2010
We crossed a doubled haploid line of the turnip Brassica rapa cv. ‘Iyo-hikabu’, which is pigmented with anthocyanin, with a Chinese cabbage inbred line, ‘Y54’, which lacks anthocyanin pigmentation. The presence and absence of anthocyanin pigmentation was segregated 79: 27 in the F2 population, suggesting monogenic control.

Surface‐Ligand‐Dependent Excited‐State Dynamics in Aqueous CuInSe2/ZnS Quantum Dot–Chlorophyll Assemblies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
CuInSe2/ZnS quantum dots are synthesized in water and coupled with chlorophyll to probe ligand‐controlled excited‐state interactions. Broad visible–NIR emission and high PLQY are observed. Time‐resolved measurements reveal shortened chlorophyll lifetimes, indicating dynamic quenching via Förster energy and/or charge transfer, highlighting surface ...

Integrating UAV-Mounted Diffraction Spectroscopy and FBG Sensor Networks for Real-Time Forest Health Monitoring

open access: yesIEEE Access
Real-time forest health assessment requires both fine-scale physiological measurements and landscape-scale biochemical mapping, yet current monitoring strategies rarely integrate in-situ and airborne modalities into a unified operational framework. Here,

Integrated X-ray fluorescence and diffuse visible-to-near-infrared reflectance scanner for standoff elemental and molecular spectroscopic imaging of paints and works on paper

open access: yesHeritage Science, 2018
Prior studies have shown the improved ability to identify artists’ pigments by combining results from X-ray fluorescence (XRF), which provides elemental information, with reflectance spectroscopy in the visible to near infrared (400–1000 nm) that ...
