Effects of Soil-Foundation-Bridge Interaction Subjected to Spatially Varying Earthquake Ground Motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The primary purpose of this study is to investigate stochastic responses of a cable-stayed bridge which is built on the Mississippi River in 1987 in USA, subjected to the spatially varying earthquake ground motion by using the finite element method ...

A Novel Calculate Model of Shear Deformation and Relative Displacement of Pile–Soil Interface in Warm Frozen Soil Foundation

open access: yesBuildings
In permafrost regions with warm frozen soil, the pile foundation is commonly used, but most currently available models for the WFS foundation pile–soil system are either highly empirical or overcomplicated, without a simplified theoretical manner in ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Effect of Scour on Load Carry Capacity of Piles on Mat Bridge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Critical scour effects on bridge performance helps to predict the bridge load carryingcapacity and as a result, may help prevent unnecessary looses. Very few studies have beenconducted on current condition of Albanian bridge especially on integrations ...

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Experimental measurements model of pile, slab and raft foundation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
