Numerical Analysis of Pile–Soil–Pile Interaction in Pile Groups with Batter Piles
Geotechnical and Geological Engineering, 2018Battered piles are usually used to counteract lateral forces in a pile group. As there is little spacing between piles, they are affected by one another, and there is interaction between them. In this study, pile–soil–pile interaction in a group of battered piles was numerically simulated using finite element analysis. Double and frictional pile groups

Pile–soil–pile interaction in pile groups with batter piles under dynamic loads
Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, 2011Abstract A simple analytical solution is developed for computing the dynamic interaction tensor for floating pile groups with batter piles. For this purpose, the governing differential equations are derived for an unloaded batter floating pile closely spaced to another loaded pile with the same properties.

Piling is used: 1. When the load imposed by a building cannot be spread sufficiently over the available ground area without exceeding the allowable bearing capacity of the soil. This also includes the situation in which safe bearing capacity is not exceeded, but when settlement would be greater than is normally acceptable. 2.

Over the past decade, a consensus had started to emerge that comets are essentially blobs of rubble held together by gravity. In his Perspective, Weaver discusses reports in the same issue by teams from the Stardust mission to comet Wild 2 that throw that picture into doubt.

Analysis of Precast Piles for Piling Process
Advanced Materials Research, 2013This passage mainly studies the change of stress and penetration in the process of precast piling. According to the construction of guide bar diesel pile diver and the piling process of diesel pile driver in the reality, this passage analyses the stress and penetration in the process of precast piling practically and theoretically with the LS-DYNA ...

Symptomatic rectocele is known to contribute to the formation of piles in female patients. This paper describes a subset of women pile sufferers who have occult rectoceles which are asymptomatic, and which are not obvious on routine visual examination, even with the use of the speculum. These patients are mulatiparous and have sustained perinea! damage

Theoretical Study on Pile Length Optimization of Pile Groups and Piled Rafts
Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2010Pile groups are frequently designed with equal or similar pile lengths. However, the significant interaction effects among equal-length piles imply that this may not be the optimized configuration. This paper presents the optimization analyses of piled rafts and freestanding pile groups, where pile lengths are varied across the group to optimize the ...

An analytical approach to pile-to-pile interaction for end-bearing piles
GéotechniqueThis study introduces an analytical approach to treat pile-to-pile interaction for axially loaded, end-bearing piles. Building upon an available Tajimi-type soil model and an application of Graf’s addition theorem, the proposed solution simultaneously considers both the source and the receiver piles.
