On 3‐MMC: A Cathinone I Have Come to Know and Love

open access: yesAnthropology of Consciousness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article attempts to complicate the mythology of a compound in a state of becoming. I will trace lightly its origins as a cultural disruptor and how I am implicated in this imperative. Elevated cardiovascular risk associated with hormone replacement therapy: A comprehensive analysis of reproductive factors and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease outcomes in the UK Biobank cohort

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Among 170,250 UK Biobank women (2006–2024), ever HRT use was associated with higher incident ASCVD risk (adjusted HR 1.13, 95% CI 1.08–1.18), largely driven by ischemic stroke. Associations were stronger in women ≤45 years and during perimenopause. Mediation via sex hormones, inflammatory markers, or lipids was minimal (<2%).

Impact of incretin analogues on lipid and lipoprotein metabolism in obesity and diabetes

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Incretin‐based therapies have gained momentum as a key strategy for reducing cardiovascular risk in individuals with obesity and/or type 2 diabetes (T2D). It remains unclear whether the cardiovascular benefits reflect a direct reduction in atherogenic lipoproteins—namely, low‐density lipoproteins (LDL), very low‐density lipoproteins (VLDL) and
