Extensively Drug-Resistant Salmonella typhi Infection: From Pill to Scalpel

open access: yesCureus, 2022
Water-borne infections like typhoid fever are common in the developing world. The emergence of extensively drug-resistant Salmonella typhi (XDR S. typhi) is of great concern for both local and global public health. Fever, diarrhea, and abdominal pain are the commonest manifestations of typhoid fever.

Effects of alkali pretreatment on lyocell woven fabric and its influence on pilling properties

open access: yes, 2019
Experiments were conducted to study the influence of various concentration of alkalis on the pilling properties of lyocell fabrics. Generally, the lyocell fabric has more tendency of pill formation due to fibrillation properties.

ANALYSIS OF THE FABRIC CHARACTERISTICS USING THE ANOVA MODEL [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Oradea: Fascicle of Textiles, Leatherwork, 2019
In this paper, it’s analyzed the surface characteristics of woven fabrics. Of these features, the pilling effect is a typical pattern of flat textiles, which consists in forming, on their surface, of clusters of adherent fibers consisting of three types ...

Characterization of Aluminized Layers on Inconel‐738 Alloy: Microstructure, Modeling of Aluminizing Kinetics, and Thermal Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...
