SAMeDL — A pilot project

Until one year ago, the SQL Ada Module Description Language (SAMeDL) primarily existed as theory. Early prototyping efforts based on the SQL Ada Module Extension (SAME) methodology were accomplished by Lockheed researchers [1]. However, developers of large information systems viewed implementation of SAMeDL as a high technical risk.

Telepsychiatry: an island pilot project

A telemedicine link was established in 1996 between the island of Inishmore and the department of psychiatry in University College Hospital, Galway. The link was mainly used to facilitate emergency consultations between patients on the island and the duty psychiatrist, always at the request of the island's general practitioner.

This paper looks at a controlled study which aimed to measure the efficacy of a parent programme. The parents involved were all parents of pre-school children with specific expressive language delay (SELD). A number of measures were used to identify changes in mother-child interaction and language development.
