Machine‐Learning‐Enabled Wood with Nanopump Functionalization for Solar Interfacial Evaporation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning to design an iron‐cobalt‐carbon‐wood photothermal material, achieving high‐efficiency evaporation at 2.807 kg m−2 h−1 and excellent salt resistance. The integrated system increased the daily water production efficiency of solar distillation by 1.5 times, providing an innovative solution for sustainable seawater ...

Framing Effects on Public Support and Behavioral Responses to Sustainable Forest Management in South Korea

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite South Korea's extensive forest coverage, which accounts for approximately 63% of its total land area, the country imports over 83% of its timber needs and has shown a gradual decline in forest carbon sequestration capacity. The Circular Forest Management Policy (CFMP) addresses these challenges through systematic forest resource ...

Catalytic Hydrogenation of Lignin‐Derived Aromatics With Rhodium Oxide in Water

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The easily available, easy‐to‐handle rhodium(III) oxide, Rh2O3, is shown to be a competent catalyst for arene hydrogenation, including chemoselective reduction of α,β‐unsaturated aryl ketones. Catalytic arene hydrogenation offers a direct pathway to saturated carbocycles. It can also be exploited to upgrade lignin‐derived aromatics.

Strong Leaders, Not Strongmen: How Concern for Polarization and Collective Nostalgia Shape Leader Preference

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Social Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Political polarization is widely seen as a growing threat to democratic cohesion, yet little is known about how concern about polarization shapes citizens’ preferences for political leadership. Across four studies in the United States and Canada, we examined whether concern about polarization predicts support for strong leaders, and whether ...

Ambivalence in the Context of Competing Narratives: Exploration Through a Case of the US Military Base Issue in Okinawa

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Social Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The current research focused on how competing narratives (i.e., dominant and resistance narratives) are endorsed among low‐status group members, through the case of the US military base issue in Okinawa, Japan. Specifically, we explored patterns of Okinawans’ narrative endorsement (i.e., dominant and resistance narratives surrounding the ...
