How Management Practices Shape the “Local Habitat Signature” That Modulates Bird Communities in Urban Green Spaces

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Local scale factors, not just the broad urban gradient, are the key drivers of urban bird communities. Our multi‐scale study found that specific management practices, such as managing leaf litter depth or the presence of unmanaged tall grass, explained the largest portion of variation in bird composition.

Monoicy in A. angustifolia (Bert.) O. Kuntze (Araucariaceae): I. Morphological aspects of the reproductive structures

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2009
Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Kuntze is a dioecious conifer species native of Brazil. The rare occurrence of monoiceous specimens have been attributed to pathogenic infections or other injuries in adult trees.

Adapted random perturbations for non-uniformly expanding maps

open access: yes, 2013
We obtain stochastic stability of C2 non-uniformly expanding one-dimensional endomorphisms, requiring only that the first hyperbolic time map be L^{p}-integrable for p>3. We show that, under this condition (which depends only on the unperturbed dynamics),

Climate Change Will Resize and Reshape Plant–Hummingbird Networks in the Atlantic Forest

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To assess how climate change could reshape plant–hummingbird interaction networks in the Atlantic Forest by predicting shifts in species co‐occurrence and evaluating changes in network structure. Location Atlantic Forest, South America.

Spore density and root colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in preserved or disturbed Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Ktze. ecosystems Densidade de esporos e colonização radicular por fungos microrrízicos arbusculares em ecossistemas de Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Ktze. preservados e impactados

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2006
Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Ktze., a native forest tree from Brazil, is under extinction risk. This tree depends on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi for growth and development, especially in tropical low-P soils but, despite being a conifer, Araucaria ...

The Hidden Diptera Diversity in Aristolochia Trap‐Flowers: Revealing the Identity of Pollinators Through Taxonomic Knowledge

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 149, Issue 10, Page 1502-1512, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Although Diptera is one of the most diverse insect orders with a high potential for pollinating plants, it remains poorly studied and neglected. This is partly due to limited taxonomic efforts in species identification. For instance, despite being primary pollinators of trap flowers, species‐level identification in these systems remains scarce.
