Pin amalgam restoration and pin amalgam foundation
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1985The principles of cavity preparation, retention, pin placement, and finishing of the pin amalgam restoration differ in several respects when applied to the pin amalgam when it is intended to serve as a foundation for a cast restoration. A more conservative extension and removal of undermined enamel is indicated because the amalgam will be covered with ...

A modified incisal guide pin (see-pin)
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1996Fig. 2. Curved IG pin for viewing midline and setup. first right-angle bend at approximately 60 mm to extend 25 mm to the right, a second bend to extend 30 mm downward, a third bend to extend 25 mm back to the original axis, and a final fourth bend back into vertical alignment. The seepin can be made into a square, tapering, or ovoid form (Fig. 3). The

Pin&Play: Networking Objects through Pins
2002We introduce a new concept of networking objects in everyday environments. The basic idea is to build on the familiar use of surfaces such as walls and boards for attachment of mundane objects such as light controls, pictures, and notes. Hence our networking concept entails augmentation of such surfaces with conductive material to enable them as ...

Publisher Summary Pins and needles are perhaps more accurately designated tingling paraesthesiae and constitute a common and universally recognized symptom complex, requiring no further elaboration from the patient. The major causes of pins and needles include the effects of trauma, ischemia, or metabolic changes on cutaneous nerve fibers or nerve ...

Physical Review Letters, 2012
In this Letter, we introduce the concept of spatial pinning control for a network of mobile chaotic agents. In a planar space, N agents move as random walkers and interact according to a time-varying r-disk proximity graph. A control input is applied only to those agents which enter a given area, called control region.

Pinning force density in strongly pinned superconductors
Physica C: Superconductivity, 1995The pinning force density in strongly pinned superconductors is statistically calculated in terms of the coherent potential approximation. The Labusch parameter is used as the parameter representing the strength of interference among individual pinning forces.

Pin pointers II. Venting and cross pinning
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1966Abstract Venting of all full crowns, 3/4 crowns, and extensive onlays is recommended to allow the escape of excess cement, to permit full seating at gingival and other margins, to prevent occlusal elevation and interference, and to minimize post-operative sensitivity by eliminating pressure of cement fluids on dentinal tubules.
