Inducing amplitude death via pinning control

The European Physical Journal B, 2019
The amplitude death (AD) phenomenon is an important dynamical behavior. Seeking the generation condition that induces AD has been an active and popular research field over the last two decades. In this paper, we report the emergence of AD in the identical coupled system with different network topologies through the pinning control.

Gate Controlled Si PIN-Structure

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1966
Si pin-diodes with nearly intrinsic region have negative resistance in the forward direction when the ratio W/L is 6–12, where W is the width of i-region and L the ambipolar diffusion length. The threshold voltage V T for giving the negative resistance varies in the wide range from 1 to 200 ...

Controllability of Flux-Pinned Docking Interface

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2015
The flux-pinned docking interface (FPDI) is composed of an YBCO high-temperature superconductor bulk and an electromagnet (EM). They are installed on the spherical target spacecraft module and another spherical tracking spacecraft module, respectively.

Optically Controlled PIN Microwave Phase-Shifter

SPIE Proceedings, 1985
There is a growing interest in optically controlled microwave devices and systems. This paper is concerned with the design, fabrication and application of optically stimulated microwave PIN diodes. A microwave PIN device was modified to facilitate optical injection of carriers into the intrinsic region of the diode.

Global Pinning Controllability of Complex Networks

2008
In this paper, we study pinning-controllability of networks of coupled dynamical systems. In particular, we study the problem of asymptotically driving a network of coupled identical oscillators onto some desired common reference trajectory by actively controlling only a limited subset of the whole network.

Pinning control and controllability of complex dynamical networks

International Journal of Automation and Computing, 2016
In this article, the notion of pinning control for directed networks of dynamical systems is introduced, where the nodes could be either single-input single-output (SISO) or multi-input multi-output (MIMO) dynamical systems, and could be non-identical and nonlinear in general but will be specified to be identical linear time-invariant (LTI) systems ...

Optimal preview pinning control of Boolean networks

ISA Transactions
This paper investigates the problem of optimal preview pinning control for Boolean networks. The primary objective is to design efficient control strategies that leverage future reference information for improved control performance. We propose a policy iteration algorithm specifically for Boolean networks based on an augmented error system ...

Control Synthesis and Pin-Count Minimization

2016
In this chapter, we propose a top-down control synthesis framework for implementing the biochemical applications on the flow-based biochips. Our algorithm generates the control logic needed to execute the application and uses a Tabu Search-based optimization in order to minimize the control pin count.

Pinning control of threshold coupled chaotic neuronal maps

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2009
Chaotic neuronal maps are studied with threshold activated coupling at selected pinning sites with increasing pinning density. A transition from spatiotemporal chaos to a fixed spatial profile with synchronized temporal cycles is observed. There is an optimal fraction of sites where it is necessary to apply the control algorithm in order to effectively
