Fossil records of subsection Pinus (genus Pinus, Pinaceae) from the Cenozoic in Japan

Journal of Plant Research, 2014
Extant pines of subsection Pinus (section Pinus, genus Pinus, Pinaceae) are predominantly distributed in Eastern Asia. However, the extent of diversification in the section has yet to be fully clarified. We reviewed fossil records of subsection Pinus from Japan and collected permineralized materials, in which anatomical details are preserved for better

Potential use of bacterial strain in the genus Serratia to biocontrol fungal pathogens associated with defoliation on Pinus patula

Biocontrol science and technology (Print), 2023
Pathogenic fungi that cause defoliation in different pine species, including Pinus patula, have been reported. The most common practice for controlling these pathogens is the use of fungicides, which have adverse environmental consequences. The objective

Biosystematics of the genus Pinus, subsection contortae

Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 1983
Gene frequency data from 42 isoenzyme loci were used to assess the phylogeny of taxa in the genus Pinus, subsection Contortae. The classification inferred from a phenogram based on Nei's genetic distance measure (DN) was generally in good agreement with the current taxonomic treatment of the subsection.

Effects of drought and rehydration on root gene expression in seedlings of Pinus massoniana Lamb.

Tree Physiology, 2023
The mechanisms underlying plant response to drought involve the expression of numerous functional and regulatory genes. Transcriptome sequencing based on the second- and/or third-generation high-throughput sequencing platforms has proven to be powerful ...
