Do camera light traps for moths provide similar data as conventional funnel light traps?
Insect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.We recorded moths using a traditional collection method (funnel light traps, FLTs) and compared them with records made using automated camera light traps (CLTs). In direct comparison, the recorded moth species richness was similar, but the CLTs were able to leverage their advantages over longer periods of time and recorded more species.
